In the first incident, a dog suffered serious neck injuries in an attack in the village of Longhope.
A vet said the injuries could have been caused by a large cat.
Later, an animal tried to get into a house in nearby Newent, leaving quarter-inch claw marks in the door.

Residents in an area of Gloucestershire are on the look-out for a big cat which is being blamed for an attack on a dog and for damaging a house.
