Haunted Room 309 Scrambles TV Camera
SAN DIEGO, Ca. - Located in the heart of the Gaslamp district is one of the most notorious haunted hotels. The Horton Grand Hotel is a favorite of honeymooners, romantics and out of this world visitors. This fabulous 100-year-old turn of the century hotel was the hang out of some of the west’s most notorious gun fighters. But it’s not Wyatt Earp’s ghost. The ghost is known as Rodger Whitaker, a renown gambler and all around rogue. He was shot in the chest in a gunfight then crawled up to his room and hid inside the armoire, where he was found days later.
It has been reported by many people who have visited this room that the ghost of Rodger Whitaker does not like the media, or so the story goes. We were certainly skeptical… that is, until we took the camera into room 309 to shoot. Notice the distortion in the room and the bright green hue which took over the film.
It’s said in some physic circles that some spirits don’t like to be disturbed by this new technology, and certainly what we saw was unusual. There is no explanation for why our cameras malfunctioned in room 309. But, you make your own conclusion.
Be sure to visit the Horton Grand Hotel web site at www.hortongrand.com/ and don’t forget to check out the hotels ‘History’ link while you’re there.
