UNIDENTIFIED LIGHT FILMED ABOVE BANGALORE, INDIA

New Delhi: First it was unusual sightings in the skyspace of Prime Minister's 7, RCR residence in Capital [see below-fs], and now "flying objects" spotted in Bangalore - the UFO theory seems to be gaining credence.

IBNLive reader Afzal Khan sent us pictures and a first-hand account:

Today (Monday, May 28) at around 9 pm (IST), I and my brothers saw a bright, slow-moving object which looked like a group of lights moving in a triangular formation in the sky towards west/north-west direction.

This object was definitely not an aeroplane as it was moving very slowly.

We observed the object from around 9 pm until 9.30 pm before it disappeared into the distance.

During this time we managed to take some pictures with my camera.

The astronomical/space/science departments of any activity in the sky during the above time can be confirmed.

We live in Jayanagar area of Bangalore.

Another thing that we noticed during this time was an aircraft that took-off from Bangalore Airport was flying very close to this object.

It is possible that the pilot of that aircraft could have spotted this object as well.

Srinivasa Rao writes:
My Name is Srinivasa Rao, working as a software engineer in Lifetree Convergence. Yesterday when we are coming home (with my borther) on a bike, I saw the special bluish colour object traveling at a high speed towards the earth. I told to my brother.

Sujith says:
I live in BTM first stage. Just thought to share the info that I was able to spot this couple of times too, but wasn’t successful in taking pictures as the object was traveling really really fast and in quiet good heights. The second time I spotted it, I inferred that no human made object can fly so fast in the sky.

Well my friends used to make fun of me when I told them so. But now I have proved them wrong.

Ramani from West Mambalam, Chennai:
I live in Chennai and I spotted a similar object during the same time above my residence. It was green in colour. It appeared like the Diwali fireworks and I did not take it seriously until I saw this report on IBNLive.com.

Animesh writes:
I and some of my friends had seen this on Thrusday night at around 09:30 pm. There was a bunch of glowing lights in the northwast direction with an elevation of 35-40 degrees. At first glance, I thought it was mere reflection aircratft lights. But after carefull observation, we saw that the light was moving in like a swinging pendulum. We obeserved it for almost one-and-a-half hour.

Thursday night was a bit cloudy, yet it was quite easy to make out the streak of light moving here and there. It was peak time for filghts to land and take off . I am sure some of the pilots must have spotted it. I stay in HSR layout and after encountering this, I called up two of my friends who stay in BTM and Banneraghtta respectively. Even they spotted the same.

I have taken the pics of almost 20 shots with my old camera. As soon as the print comes, I'll share them with you people.

New Delhi: Were there some unidentified flying objects over Delhi last Wednesday or was it a security lapse near the Prime Minister's residence?

On March 7, 2007, air traffic control radars in Delhi picked up two unidentified flying objects over Delhi moving northwest to south between 0930 hours and 1000 hours (IST).

While the ATC was alarmed by the sightings, the Air Force did not scramble its jets to intercept the flying objects as per the security protocol even though the breach of air space happened at a time when air traffic was at its peak. Security experts say the objects might have involved a serious threat to civilian air traffic.

And eight days later, no one really knows if they were birds or planes or kites. ATC officials say the objects were too slow moving to be aircraft. The Air Force says they could have been migratory birds. A radar malfunction has also been not ruled out.

But the incident has raised serious security concerns as the two unidentified flying objects were detected very close to the Prime Minister's residence.

Sources told CNN-IBN that both the objects were flying seven miles apart. They flew over Safdarjung before heading east and vanishing off the radar. Both the ATC and the Air Force tried to establish radio contact, but failed.

The UFOs flew just above the Safdarjung Airport. But what has raised serious concern in the security establishment is the fact that the Prime Minister's house is just 2 km from the spot and so are the other high-security areas.

The Air Force says it was informed about the radar trace only when the objects were within 5 nautical miles of Safdarjung. They vanished from the radar 3 minutes after crossing Safdarjung.

The Civil Aviation Ministry says there are no reports of unidentified flying objects over Delhi. The Air Force has already conducted an enquiry into this incident, but it had no clear answers to any of the questions.
