In January 2007 the French Center for Space Research (CNES) wants to make its UFO archives publically accessible via the internet. Among them are more than over 3000 documents from police records. On 100.000 sightings family names had to be removed because of current data security.
The first “flying saucer” was sighted in France in 1937. In the 1950s thruough to the 1970s there were many encounters with alleged extraterrestrials and UFOs in France.
The value of UFO observations has always been disputed. Many researchers however continue to believe the authorities are concealing the truth.
Professor Henri Broch of the University of Nice, a paranormal specialist, accuses CNES of never conducting serious research into the phenomenon.
