While what was filmed on the evening of June 20 remains a mystery for me, I am indebted to a regular reader of FarShores who has applied his valuable experience with recon photography, satellite and high altitude imagery analysis to the recorded event.

Jim Corbett took it upon himself to subject the following frame to a number of filtering routines, coupled with what he describes as, "gut level assumptive reasoning".

Reports Jim, "My interpretation of the object is that it is most likely a 'powered parachute with a bright light.. or a towed para/kite with a bright light.

"The absence of urban background and reflective glare will almost always make a single light source appear very bright.. I believe the hovering effect is probably due to moving into a light head wind and adjusting the thrust of the 'fan' to equalize the momentum and achieve a hover. Also the position of the chute would also indicate heading into a headwind and serving as a 'tractor' effect on the forward motion of the vehicle.

"I included some commercial pictures of commonly available powered chute vehicles, and the one that is a wheeled vehicle has roughly the same type of body shape, plus a light on the 'nose' ... The colors of my filtered pics are not 'true' or representational of the actual object , but rather a side effect of the employ and cross relation of several different filters in both cases being overlaid on other filtered images to arrive at some kind of form from the shape... therefore, do not consider the color in my filtered pieces to be true to the actual object, the colors are only for clarification of image, rather like the current media apps to radar weather images..(sort of).."
