UFOs And A Time Warp English Village
[Original headline: Is there a time warp in Little Houghton?]

The sleepy village of Little Houghton has emerged as the latest must-go destination for UFO-spotters hoping to see if the truth really is out there.

A new book, Time Storms, from renowned UFO expert Jenny Randles contains references to two tales of supposed time travel which took place in the Northamptonshire village.

The examples of the mysterious goings-on date back almost three decades, but will now take their place in the list of unexplained phenomena.

In the book Jenny Randles explains how, in 1973, a 21-year-old man known only as Paul was driving through the village and noticed it was 2am on the church clock.

His next memory was finding himself wandering on foot with no sign of his car some 16 miles away at 7am.

When he retraced his steps with the help of a friend he found his car five miles away in the village of Bromham, over the county border in Bedfordshire.

The vehicle was parked in the middle of a muddy field, but there were no tyre tracks leading to the closed gate.

In a flashback two years later, Paul claimed he remembered seeing a fuzzy white glow heading towards the windscreen as he drove out of the village, followed by darkness until he “came to” the next morning.

The extraordinary tale is backed up by a similar scenario reported nearly 10 years later.

At 6.45pm a motorcyclist was travelling through Great Houghton when his engine cut out. As he tried to repair the bike by changing a fuse, the area suddenly became silent with a white glow clinging to the ground in a field next to him.

Within seconds the biker was put out of his trance-like state but found himself holding his keys, not the fuse.

He rode the short distance to Little Houghton, where the church clock showed 8.30pm – nearly two hours had passed in what appeared to be only matter of minutes.

While sceptics will dismiss the stories as nothing more than urban myths, the internationally-acclaimed author is convinced they are evidence that time travel is a real possibility.

The UFO Investigators Network member, whose 40 books have sold more than a million copies, said: “The accounts that we heard seem to fit in with the anomalies in space and time that we know exist across the world.

“There certainly seems to be an area of Northamptonshire that fits into this way of thinking.”
